What is the healthy way of eating lychees?

June is the time we start preparing for lychees! As a classic fruit in Lingnan area, the lychee is glossy, succulent and luscious. So much sweetness that once you start eating, you just can’t stop! But be careful. Too much lychee may lead to some unpleasant health problems concerning blood-sugar level, the teeth and stomach conditions. So, what is the healthy way of eating the fruit?

Peel off the tough skin but save the thin layer. Soak them in salt water for an hour. Then eat the lychee with the thin layer off. In this way, the lychee will not bring excessive “heat” to the body, which might result in a dry mouth or fever.
