About Tamsin Waley-Cohen

Described by The Times as a violinist "who held us rapt in daring and undaunted performances" and by The Guardian as a performer of "fearless intensity", Tamsin Waley-Cohen enjoys an adventurous and varied career.

Tamsin has been selected for the prestigious European Concert Halls Organization's Rising Stars program for the 2016/17 season, chosen by Birmingham's Town Hall Symphony Hall. Tamsin is the only British artist nominated for this season, and she will be embarking upon a prestigious European tour of some of the finest concert halls in Europe including Musikverein Vienna, Cite？ de la Musique Paris and Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam.

She has performed with major UK orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra and Orchestra of the Swan (with whom she was Associate Artist in the 2015/16 season), under conductors including Andrew Litton, José Serebrier, Tamas Vasary and Nicolae Moldoveanu. Tamsin has also performed with orchestras from around the world including Budapest Philharmonic, Graz Kammerphilharmonie and Chapelle Musicale de Tournai, with performances taking her across Europe, New Zealand, and the USA. Tamsin was also selected as a Wigmore Emerging Artist for season 2015-2016 by the Wigmore Hall in London.
