Born in 1993 in Nanjing, capital of East China's Jiangsu province, Zhang Haotian has been playing piano for 25 years. At 10, Zhang has studied under world-renowned Canadian pianist Sasha Starcevich. He was later admitted to the Mannes College of Music in New York under the guidance of professors Pavlina Dokovska and Vladimir Valjarevic. At the age of 12, Zhang received the highest score in the Canadian Music Competition and was dubbed a musical prodigy by the media. He enrolled in the Royal Academy of Music in the UK when he was 20 and was named a Steinway Artist after winning a dozen national and international competition awards. He was also the cultural ambassador for the 2014 Youth Olympic Games.
