According to an announcement released by the Dongguan Farm Produce Market Special Work Team for Epidemic Prevention and Control on January 12th, Jinxiangxing Warehousing & Logistics Co., Ltd. in Fenggang Town of Dongguan City violated epidemic prevention regulations and stored a batch of frozen chicken feet imported from the United States. On December 29th, 2020, after picking up the products from the Shenzhen Yantian Port, the company did not honestly record the products storage information in accordance with regulations, and directly stored them in the warehouse without going through the nucleic acid detection for the COVID-19 virus and outer packaging disinfection in Dongguan’s centralized supervision warehouse for imported frozen products.

In accordance with the national food safety laws, as well as the epidemic prevention and control policy of Dongguan, the Fenggang Branch of the Dongguan Market Supervision Administration closed the company's cold storage facility on December 30th, 2020, and filed a case for investigation after suspending its business and destroying all the products involved. On January 11th, 2021, the Dongguan Public Security Bureau imposed a five-day administrative penalty on the legal representative of the company, in accordance with relevant regulations.

In order to effectively contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus through imported frozen products in the city, Dongguan city issued a notice on strengthening the prevention and control of imported frozen meat and aquatic products on December 24, 2020. It stipulates that starting from December 28, 2020, imported frozen products that have been picked up from domestic ports or docks without testing and disinfection, must go through the city's centralized warehouse for package disinfection and nucleic acid testing of samples before being distributed for storage, sales and processing. For other imported frozen products entering Dongguan, the operator must obtain a Customs declaration form for imported goods, an inspection and quarantine certificate, a nucleic acid test report and a disinfection certificate provided by upstream suppliers. Otherwise, the products shall not be stored, sold or processed in Dongguan.

As the current situation of COVID-19 prevention and control is getting stricter, operators of the storage, sales, and processing businesses that import frozen products must strictly abide by laws, regulations, as well as epidemic prevention and control policies. Violations of laws and regulations will be severely punished by the regulators. If you know of any illegal act of storage, sales, or processing of imported frozen products, the general public can call 12345 or 12315 to report their concerns.
