The spring semester in Dongguan officially begins on Monday. Millions of primary and secondary school students and children in kindergarten go back to class.

After taking a temperature check, submitting their health information and accepting other health precautions, the students saw and hugged their teachers and classmates who hadn't seen for a long time. While doing a good job in epidemic prevention and control, schools were also specially preparing red envelopes and various good luck activities for students, creating a happy atmosphere on the first day of school.

To make sure each task was carried out in good order on the first day of school, relevant departments made sufficient preparations in advance. Authorities had inspected all the schools to ensure safety. Nancheng Public Security Bureau set up 83 checkpoints with police officers to safeguard the students' return to campus.

The teachers were also busy preparing for the beginning of school. Some counted the number of new textbooks; some checked epidemic prevention materials; some prepared for the first lesson; some did cleaning, making sure everything was disinfected.
