On the evening of November 14, during an investigation carried out in Dongcheng District, Dongguan for people recently returning from outside Guangdong Province, one resident had an abnormal result in nucleic acid testing for the coronavirus. After review and nucleic acid reexamination, the results all showed negative for the virus.

After discovering the abnormal result, Dongguan immediately carried out an epidemiological investigation and sampling on relevant personnel and places. As of 8 am on November 15, a total of 935 samples have been collected, including 840 human and 95 environment samples, all of which were negative for COVID-19.

Dongguan has reported no new local COVID-19 infections in the city for 146 consecutive days. However, recently, locally transmitted confirmed cases have been reported in many provinces, such as Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Ningxia, Henan, Hebei, Liaoning, and Heilongjiang. Dongguan CDC reminds that residents should always stay alert for epidemic prevention and control since the epidemic situation is severe and complicated.
