On the morning of June 30, with the order of "Binhaiwan Bridge officially opened to traffic", a fleet of floats slowly drove from the Shajiao Peninsula to Jiaoyiwan and passed the bridge in warm applause. The Binhaiwan Bridge was successfully opened to traffic.

The bridge is an important passage connecting the urban area and Binhaiwan New Area, the Jiaoyiwan plate and the Shajiao Peninsula plate. After opening, it will lay a solid foundation for connecting various resource elements to Binhaiwan New Area.

At the same time, there is a new route for citizens to drive to Binhaiwan New Area. Citizens can turn to Binhai Bay Avenue along Huanguan express way, and arrive the Jiaoyiwan Plate directly. The time to drive between Jiaoyiwan and Shajiao Peninsula will be shortened to 5 minutes.

The bridge was designed by the team led by He Jingtang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. With the design concept of "Silk Road Lights, Magnolia Blossoms", the bridge is highly integrated with the coastal landscape and Dongguan city culture.

The bridge has a total length of 973.6 meters, a road red line width of 80 meters, and a main tower height of 149.8 meters. It is a single-tower cable-stayed bridge with the largest span and the widest deck in China, which took two years to complete.

The bridge is also equipped with non-motorized lanes, sidewalks and other slow-moving systems. Residents can go for a stroll or cycling on it and enjoy the magnificent seaside scenery.
