Updates on the COVID-19 situation in Dongguan (Sept. 2)

On September 2, Dongguan reported 2 asymptomatic cases who found positive among the close contacts that have been centrally quarantined. One case was an imported case from other city and another was related to the previously reported case from other city. Detailed information is as follows:

Imported asymptomatic case: Male, 7, living in Zhutang Village, Fenggang Town. On August 21 and from August 27 to September 1, his nucleic acid test results were all negative.

The case, as well as the asymptomatic cases respectively reported on August 31 and on September by Dongguan, were the close contacts of the positive case previously reported in other city, and tested positive during the period of centralized quarantine. He was transferred to the designated hospital for isolation and medical observation in a closed-loop procedure, and was diagnosed as an asymptomatic case after further examination and expert consultation. 

Asymptomatic case related to the imported case from other city: Male, 7, living in Dalang Community, Dalang Town. On August 17 and from August 27 to September 1, his nucleic acid test results were all negative.

The case was a close contact of the imported asymptomatic case previously reported on August 27 in Dalang Town, and tested positive during the period of centralized quarantine. He was transferred to the designated hospital for isolation and medical observation in a closed-loop procedure, and was diagnosed as an asymptomatic case after further examination and expert consultation. 

The traced close contacts and sub-close contacts of the 2 cases have been under management as required. Environmental nucleic acid sampling and terminal disinfection have been carried out in all venues involved.

The general public is requested to consciously abide by the relevant epidemic prevention and control regulations, firmly establishing the awareness that "everyone is responsible for their own health". Please wear masks properly, wash hands frequently, ensure good ventilation and maintain social distancing. Before entering public places, citizens should cooperate with the anti-epidemic measures such as taking temperature checks, wearing a mask, scanning the venue code and showing their itinerary card. Please participate in the nucleic acid tests organized by the village, community or unit where you are located.
