Humen Station of Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High-speed Rail has made further progress in its reconstruction and extension project. 

The reconstruction and expansion of the station building and its supporting projects of Humen Station started at the end of August 2020. By now, the steel structure of the newly built station building has been completed. Now, a metal roofing system has been installed, and the interior decoration of the underground station is completed. The freshly built Humen Station has just begun to take shape and looks magnificent.

After the renovation and expansion, the total construction area of the station building is 26,445 square meters, and the passenger waiting area is about 7,000 square meters. The underground parking lot and other supporting facilities have an area of over 100,000 square meters with more than 900 parking spaces. The new transfer centre will realize the vertical transfer of high-speed rail, subway and urban rail, with three floors above ground and two underground floors, with a construction area of about 16,000 square meters.

According to the plan, the station, its surrounding facilities, and road construction are expected to be open to the public before the Spring Festival in 2023.
