On December 28, the fifth plenary session of the 15th CPC Dongguan Municipal Committee was held. The theme of the conference is: guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, thoroughly implemented the spirit of the Party's 20 National Congress and earnestly implemented the plan of the Second Plenary Session of the 13th Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, Dongguan has adhered to the city characteristics of "Sci-Tech Innovation + Advanced Manufacturing", focused on high-quality development to promote modernization, and made its due contribution to Guangdong taking the lead and making new successes in the new journey of building a modern socialist country.

Dongguan's gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to cross 1.1 trillion yuan in 2022, learned from the meeting.

In 2022, with extraordinary efforts to stabilize growth, Dongguan firmly stabilized the economic market and comprehensively strengthened monitoring and scheduling of economic operations. The city made every effort to increase investment, develop projects, maintain production and boost consumption and projected that its GDP for the year would exceed 1.1 trillion yuan. The municipal government, township governments and commune-level governments worked together to stabilize and assist enterprises, and introduced a series of favorable measures, including "10 measures to stabilize jobs, benefit enterprises, and facilitate the public" and "20 measures to sustain the industry," to help a large number of market players tide over difficulties and regain strength, and thus stabilize the economy.
