On July 4, the Macao Portuguese and English Press Delegation to the Greater Bay Area visited the China Spallation Neutron Source and Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory in Dongguan, experiencing firsthand the innovative and scientific development of this renowned international manufacturing city.

"This is my first time in Dongguan. Previously, I mainly knew Dongguan for its traditional manufacturing industries such as garment production. But today, as I visit these top-notch national research facilities, I can feel Dongguan's determination to drive technological innovation and advanced manufacturing," said Li Huirong, a journalist from the Macao Post. José Carlos Matias, director of the Macau Business Media, had visited Dongguan before, but this time he witnessed a different Dongguan. "At Songshan Lake, I can see Dongguan's progressive and transformative  development in science and technology."

Behind Dongguan's rapid technological progress lies the city's unwavering efforts. In recent years, Dongguan has focused on its urban positioning of "technological innovation + advanced manufacturing," continuously strengthening the construction of its scientific and technological innovation system. The city has implemented talent introduction programs, including the "Ten-Hundred-Thousand-Million Talent Project," attracting high-level talents and cultivating skilled professionals, while also advancing initiatives in areas such as talent housing, education, and healthcare, in order to fully leverage the dividends of talent cultivation.

From July 2 to 5, the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Macao organized a visit to Guangzhou, Shaoguan, Dongguan and Shenzhen for a delegation comprising of Macao's Portuguese and English media, representatives from the Macao SAR Government Information Bureau, and officials from the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR.
