Recently, a shipment of goods from Guangdong OPPO Mobile Communications Co., Ltd., including smartphone components such as mainboards and casings, was exported to Indonesia under the supervision of Dongguan Chang'an Customs, a subsidiary of Huangpu Customs.

"OPPO products enjoy great popularity in the Southeast Asian market, particularly in Indonesia," said Dai Jiaqiang, Director of Customs Affairs at OPPO. He mentioned that OPPO achieved a market share of 17 percent in the Southeast Asian market in 2023 and has shown outstanding performance in Indonesia this year. In January, OPPO claimed the No. 1 spot with a 20 percent market share, making a strong start to the year 2024.

According to Canalys, smartphone shipments in the five major Southeast Asian markets surged to 7.26 million units in January 2024, with a 20 percent year-on-year increase.

Indonesia has the largest smartphone market in Southeast Asia, with 2.7 million units shipped, which accounted for 38 percent of the region's shipments. With a 20 percent market share, OPPO secured the leading position in the Indonesian market.

Dongguan is the largest manufacturing hub for smartphones in China, with one out of every four smartphones produced in the world coming from Dongguan. And OPPO's success in capturing the Indonesian market reflects a positive signal from the market.

In recent years, as Chinese products have gained popularity abroad, domestically produced smartphones with excellent quality and competitive prices have been increasingly favored in foreign markets, especially in Southeast Asia. They have successfully attracted a wave of fans in overseas markets.

In the first three months of 2024, the export value of smartphones and intermediate products in the jurisdiction of Dongguan Chang'an Customs exceeded 23.3 billion yuan, according to Liu Fangjia from Dongguan Chang'an Customs.
