Dongguan has been listed among China's Top 50 Cities for Talent Development Ecosystem in 2024, according to a report recently released by the Chinese Association of Human Resource Development. The report highlights Dongguan's significant advantages in fostering professional growth and creating a talent-friendly environment.

The report was developed using comprehensive research into job search data, recruitment trends, and societal conditions, combining AI and big data analysis to build an innovative evaluation system. 

This recognition underscores Dongguan's commitment to becoming a hub for talent and innovation.

A national science and innovation powerhouse

Dongguan plays a key role in national science and innovation strategies, housing major projects like the Comprehensive National Science Center in the Greater Bay Area (Songshan Lake Science City) and the country's first pilot site for the National Institute of Engineering Excellence. 

The city is home to cutting-edge research facilities such as the China Spallation Neutron Source, the Advanced Attosecond Laser Laboratory and Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory. The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Academician Summit, held in Dongguan for years, attracts leading scientific minds to discuss the future of technology.

Dongguan is also a leader in addressing critical scientific challenges. The Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory's breakthroughs, including the development of high-temperature bulk metallic glass, have been recognized as one of China's Top 10 Scientific Advances. Dongguan's contribution to the field of medical technology with the country's first BNCT accelerator device further solidifies its role in advancing industrial innovation.
