Autumn is in the air, and the weather in Dongguan has been quite pleasant recently. However, super typhoon "Kong-rey" is on its way and has entered a 24-hour warning period.
The Central Meteorological Observatory issued an orange typhoon warning on October 31 at 6:00, indicating that Typhoon Kong-rey is expected to make landfall on Taiwan's eastern coast around midday today. The storm is classified as a strong or super typhoon, with maximum wind speeds reaching 55 m/s (up to level 16).
As of this morning, Kong-rey was located approximately 215 kilometers southeast of Taitung, Taiwan, and is projected to move northwest at a speed of 25-30 km/h. After making landfall, the typhoon will cross Taiwan and enter the Taiwan Strait, potentially affecting coastal areas in Fujian and Zhejiang provinces as it transitions into a temperate cyclone.
