From November 8 to 10, the heart of Dongguan will beat to the vibrant rhythms of Lingnan culture as the 2024 GBA Public Culture and Tourism Products Sourcing Fair (the "2024 GBA Sourcing Fair") unfolds at the Dongguan Culture Center. With a theme of "Lingnan culture, more trendy and fun," this grand event will bring over 500 cultural curators and diverse creative experiences to celebrate the region's heritage in fresh, innovative ways.
This immersive event will bring together over 300 exhibitors, showcasing the dynamic culture, artistry, and technology of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Spanning 28,000 square meters, the fair will offer an array of specialized zones designed to cater to a variety of interests, from cutting-edge cultural products to immersive artistic experiences.
New IPs and upgraded highlights
This year's fair introduces three upgraded IPs, including a brand-new National Cultural Curators Conference, a landmark gathering aimed at exploring how Lingnan culture, with its roots in the GBA, can thrive in the modern era. Top scholars, industry leaders, and cultural entrepreneurs will come together to discuss fresh perspectives and strategies to keep traditional Lingnan cultural elements vibrant and relevant.
The event gathers 374 curated culture and tourism organizations, including iconic brands like Huawei, All Best Festival, and local Dongguan artisans. Huawei's MatePad Pro exhibit, co-created with Xiexie Design, features an artistic showcase of landmark sites from Guangzhou, Foshan, and Dongguan, symbolizing the enduring connection between Lingnan landscapes and culture.
The fair also brings to life the Industry Curators' Imagination Expo, featuring special exhibits under the theme "Beyond Vision." Spearheaded by the popular media outlet "Weallmessup," with a fanbase of over 13 million, the exhibit is designed for younger audiences and will use a blend of visual and multimedia installations, hand-drawn exhibits, and graffiti spaces to create a multi-sensory experience. This segment links cultural engagement with consumption, offering visitors the chance to view, experience, and purchase original creative works.
