The 2024 Dongguan High-Level Talent Week and the Talent Series Theme Carnival officially kicked off on December 20 at the Dongguan International Exhibition Hotel.

This year's event marks the tenth anniversary of the talent week, showcasing 36 events across four main chapters: "Contributing to the Era," "Bay Area Set Sail," "Vibrant Industries through Talents," and "Enjoying Dongguan." The event aims to express heartfelt gratitude to global talents and attract young professionals, industrial experts, scientific innovators, and skilled workers to Dongguan.

During the opening ceremony, local leaders awarded certificates to Dongguan's Skill Masters and outstanding talents, and established innovation centers and research stations to further promote scientific development.

In recent years, Dongguan has prioritized talent as a key driver of high-quality development. As a result, Dongguan has earned accolades such as "Best City for Talent Recruitment," "Best City for Employment Promotion," and "Best Talent Development Eco-City."

Currently, the total talent pool in Dongguan has reached 3.282 million, with 275,000 high-level professionals, representing over 31% of the resident population. Notably, the city has become a hotbed for young talent, particularly those born after 1995.

Lv Chengqi, the city's mayor, emphasized that the past decade has been one of continuous self-improvement and innovation for Dongguan, transforming it into a high-level talent city within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The city has hosted numerous talent attraction activities, including the High-Level Talent Week and various university internship programs, which have significantly enhanced its reputation and appeal among talents.

This year's talent week features 78 engaging activities designed to highlight the significance of the tenth anniversary. Dongguan has hosted the High-Level Talent Week annually since 2015, accumulating over 246 events attended by more than 100,000 high-level talents both online and offline. The initiatives aim to foster a city image characterized by genuine care for talent.

This year's event features several key highlights, including a strong emphasis on political guidance and integrated development, which showcases the collaborative growth of industry, talent, and the city. Through exhibitions, promotional videos, and personal stories, the achievements of the past decade are prominently displayed. Additionally, the event focuses on attracting and cultivating talent in cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, integrated circuits, financial services, and e-commerce, aligning with technological innovation and industrial development. Furthermore, it aims to enhance international engagement by hosting various forums and promotional activities, inviting overseas talents and students to participate in academic exchanges and cultural experiences in Dongguan.
