The last typhoon of 2024
On December 22, a new tropical cyclone strengthened into a tropical depression, the Typhoon No. 26, "Phakphut", and it probably is the last typhoon of the year.
As of 5:00 AM today (December 24), the center of Typhoon No. 26 "Phakphut" (Tropical Storm Level) was located over the southwestern South China Sea. "Phakphut" is expected to maintain its intensity and move westward at a speed of 5-10 kilometers per hour, gradually approaching the southeastern coast of Vietnam. It will have no direct impact on Guangdong.
Guangdong Weather
According to the Guangdong Meterorological Deapartment, from December 24 to 26, daytime temperatures will slowly rise across the province. However, the temperature difference between day and night will remain significant, with chilly mornings and evenings. On December 24, some northern parts of Guangdong will experience low temperatures of 3°C to 5°C in the early morning. Winds over Guangdong's coastal waters, the South China Sea, and the Taiwan Strait are expected to range from Force 6 to Force 9 and persist for an extended period.
