A fresh wave of cold air has arrived, bringing a significant temperature drop and gusty northern winds. The Dongguan Meteorological Observatory has issued a yellow cold warning as of 8:59 on February 7, signaling the start of a colder spell.

From February 7 to 9, temperatures will continue to drop, with the lowest reaching around 8°C on the morning of February 9 (Sunday). Over these days, expect cloudy and drizzly weather on February 7, followed by clear but chilly conditions on February 8 and 9. The cold air will intensify the wind, making the chill even more noticeable.  If you've been waiting for the perfect time to do some laundry, take advantage of the dry weather over the weekend, sunshine is on the way!
Upcoming Weather

February 8-9: It will see overcast turning partly sunny, the lowest temperatures will range from 8°C to 9°C.

February 10: The cold air weakens, and temperatures begin to rise slightly with more sunshine.

February 11-12: Warmer, but expect scattered light rain and mist due to southern air currents.

February 13-15: Another round of weak cold air arrives, bringing small to moderate rain and a return of the damp chill.

The first cold wave of the Year of the Snake has already begun affecting Guangdong, leading to a drop in temperatures across the province. While northern Guangdong may even see frost or freezing temperatures, Dongguan's lowest point will be around 8°C, making it a significantly colder period than usual.

With the temperature fluctuations ahead, residents are advised to dress warmly, especially in the mornings and evenings. The risk of flu is currently high, so staying warm and taking precautions against seasonal illnesses is essential.
