The Shenzhen–Nanning High Speed Railway (Shen-Nan HSR), a major route connecting the Greater Bay Area with southwest China, has reached a major milestone. The Guangjian No.1 Tunnel was successfully completed, marking the full breakthrough of all short tunnels in Section I.
Once fully operational, the railway will cut travel time between Dongguan and Nanning to just about 2.5 hours, making inter-provincial travel faster and more convenient.
Stretching from Shenzhen in Guangdong to Nanning, the capital of Guangxi, the Shen-Nan HSR traverses key cities and economic hubs, acting as a high-speed artery between the Greater Bay Area and China's vast southwest region.
The full line will feature 18 stations, including:
Nanningdong ↔ Wuhe ↔ Liujiang ↔ Hengxian ↔ Xingyenan ↔ Yulinbei ↔ Rongxiannan ↔ Cenxidong ↔ Luodingbei ↔ Yunfu ↔ Gaoming ↔ Jiangmen ↔ Henglan ↔ Zhongshanbei ↔ Nansha ↔ Dongguan Binhaiwan ↔ Shenzhen Airport East ↔ Shenzhen Xili Railway Stations. (Final station names subject to official confirmation.)
The Guangdong section alone spans approximately 357 kilometers, with design speeds of up to 350 km/h.
This new route will strengthen ties between Guangdong and Guangxi, boost regional integration, and bring Dongguan residents closer to southwest China than ever before.
