From June 10 to 12, media outlets from Japan, the UK, Singapore, Hong Kong and Guangdong, including Nikkei, Yomiuri Shimbun, Financial Times, Channel News Asia, Ta Kung Wen Wei, and TVB, joined a joint press tour across the Greater Bay Area, exploring how cultural vitality and technological innovation are driving high-quality development in Guangdong.
On June 11, the delegation arrived in Dongguan, where they visited the picturesque DingpenghuangVillage in Dongkeng, the AI-powered robotics firm Guangdong Topstar Technology, and OPPO's intelligent manufacturing base and data center. What they discovered was a city that weaves tradition and technology into a compelling narrative of progress.
The journey showcased the philosophy behind Dongguan's manufacturing aesthetics, a belief that "Made in Dongguan" is no longer just about efficiency or scale, but about creating something beautiful, meaningful, and forward-looking.

At Guangdong Topstar Technology Co., visitors were drawn to the sleek and agile industrial robots performing automated tasks. The company, with a mission to"Making industrial manufacturing better," is building an ecosystem of robotics, AI, and intelligent factory solutions.
Shuai Cheng, a journalist from Hong Kong Ta Kung Wen Wei Media Group (HKTGWW), was impressed by the fully automated production lines, where not a single worker was needed on the shop floor. "I've learned that they've achieved 100% automation, it's no longer just about using machines, but about exporting entire intelligent solutions to the world, that's really impressing," he noted.
Vice President Jiang Xiangqian shared that the firm's 900-person R&D team includes top minds from Tsinghua University, Harbin Institute of Technology, and leading global institutions. "All our core technologies, from control systems to vision algorithms, are self-developed." Jiang said, "Topstar is currently co-developing a new generation of AI robots with Tsinghua, which are already undergoing trials in client factories."
