This October, Dongguan is set to dazzle as the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday come together in one golden week. 

From October 3-7,the historic Yaxiang Street in Liaobu Town will host the 2025 Dongguan Mid-Autumn Lantern Fair, bringing back the charm of the city's thousand-year-old fragrance market (Xiangshi).

Admission: Free (Hanfu required for entry)

Visitors will be transported into a living scene of ancient markets, complete with traditional stalls, incense culture showcases, and performers in period costumes. Guests are encouraged to wear Hanfu to join in the immersive experience, whether wandering lantern-lit streets, savoring handmade pastries, or enjoying elegant incense ceremonies and classical music. On-site rentals and styling services will also be available.

The fair also features interactive games inspired by traditional culture, from riddle-solving to mini challenges, with prizes and collectibles awaiting participants. For families and culture lovers alike, it's a chance to step into the spirit of old China while celebrating the warmth of Mid-Autumn.

From October 3-5, guided game sessions let you team up with others to clear challenges. From October 6-7, explore freely, collecting stamps as you play for a chance to win prizes.

Adding to the festive fun, the "Liaobu Fragrance Hunt" encourages visitors to collect stamps at 6 designated spots across town, including the Foling Lake Ecotourism Park, Xiangshi Zoo, Xixi Village, China Agarwood Culture Museum, Youyiwei coffee shop, and Yaxiang Street. Each completed stamp unlocks gifts or prize draws with festival-exclusive souvenirs.

Beyond the lantern fair, local shops, restaurants, and hotels are offering special holiday discounts. From incense boutiques with festival promotions to cozy hotels with festive packages and seafood buffets, it's an all-in-one holiday experience, shop, dine, stay, and celebrate.
