The most powerful cold front of the second half of the year is on its way south, sweeping from Inner Mongolia and North China toward the central and southern regions. As the chill spreads, much of the country is expected to experience its lowest temperatures in months.
Starting October 19, the cold air mass will reach Guangdong, bringing a noticeable drop in temperatures.
In Dongguan, temperatures are forecast to plunge from 32°C on October 19 to 17°C on October 22, a sharp drop of over 15°C.
From October 19 to 22, expect mostly cloudy to overcast skies, stronger winds, and occasional light rain, especially as a typhoon's outer circulation brings extra moisture. Gusts could reach 5-6 on the Beaufort scale, and up to 7-8 in coastal or elevated areas. The lowest readings may even slip to 17°C.
By October 23-24, the weather will gradually clear, and temperatures are set to rise again.
