On the night of November 12, the crowd at the Dongguan Basketball Center erupted in celebration as Team Guangdong claimed the men's basketball gold medal at the 15th National Games, defeating Team Zhejiang with a commanding 101-65 victory.This triumph marks Guangdong's third National Games men's basketball title, following their wins in 2009 and 2013, and once again, the championship was secured in the heart of Dongguan, a city that lives and breathes basketball.
Led by head coach Du Feng, the team featured top players from the Guangdong Southern Tigers, Shenzhen Leopards, and Guangzhou Loong Lions, forming a powerhouse lineup that blended talent and teamwork. Since late May, the team had been training intensively, fine-tuning their chemistry through a series of warm-up matches, including the FIBA Solidarity Cup held in Dongguan this July.
