Dongguan Museum's current site on Xinfen Road (新芬路) will officially close on March 4, with March 3 marking its final open day. 

As the museum prepares to move into a new, significantly larger facility, residents and visitors are invited to stop by one last time to capture memories at this long-standing cultural landmark.

The museum traces its origins to the Dongguan Museum and Library, founded in 1929 and completed in 1931, making it one of the earliest museums established in Guangdong Province. It was renamed Dongguan County Museum in 1959, and later Dongguan Museum after the city was upgraded in 1988. In 1994, it relocated to its current Xinfen Road address.
