Two typhoons are currently active, which are Typhoon Dolphin over the northwestern Pacific and Typhoon Kujira over the central-eastern South China Sea. Based on current forecasts, however, neither is expected to directly affect Dongguan.

Dongguan will instead see a mix of thunderstorms and rising temperatures over the coming days. August 6 will be mainly cloudy with brief showers, while scattered showers or thunderstorms, and locally heavy rain, are expected from August 7 to 9. Similar conditions will continue from August 10 to 13. Official forecasts place daytime highs at around 35°C to 36°C over the coming days. 

Residents are advised to carry an umbrella, as weather conditions can change quickly, and to take precautions against the heat by limiting prolonged outdoor activity, using sun protection and staying well hydrated.
