Recently, a team led by Professor John P. A. Ioannidis of Stanford University, in collaboration with Elsevier, released the 9th edition of the 2026 World’s Top 2% Scientists list.

Of the scholars from City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan), 29 were included in the Career-long Impact List and 41 in the Single-year Impact List, with 29 appearing on both. It clearly demonstrates the university’s research strengths in artificial intelligence, materials science, energy and power engineering, and other fields.
