The Spring Festival (February 12) is just one month away, and people are busy shopping for the upcoming lunar new year. Under the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, more consumers have turned online, driving up the demand for express delivery services.

A timetable of the service suspension of China's major courier companies has recently gone viral on the internet, arousing public concerns over the holiday arrangements of logistics services during the vacation.

Several express companies, however, slam such rumors, promising users "no shutting up" throughout the Lunar New Year holiday.

—YTO Express (圆通): remains in service during Spring Festival.

—STO Express (申通): provides services as usual between Feb. 4 and 19, but will adjust service hours on Feb. 11 (New Year's Eve, or Chuxi) and 12 (the first day of the Lunar New Year).

—Yunda Express (韵达): offers express service between Feb. 4 and 19 as usual.

—SF Express (顺丰): customers living in third-tier cities may have to wait for their parcels for a longer time due to manpower shortage, while those in first- and second-tier cities can enjoy logistics services as usual.

ZTO Express (中通), Best Express(百世) and Deppon Express (德邦) also have announced non-stop services during the holiday.

Given the recent surge of domestic cases in the Chinese mainland and the worsening novel coronavirus situations overseas, people are urged to take precaution against COVID-19 infection when receiving delivery packages, especially those from overseas. Recipients are advised to wear face masks and disposable gloves and disinfect the outer packaging of goods, as well as promptly wash their hands after opening the package.

In October, 2020, Qingdao city in East China's Shandong province found sufficient evidence that the novel coronavirus can be transmitted from objects to human beings and survive for a long time, especially under freezing conditions.
