Brace yourselves for super high temperatures as the mercury in Guangdong continues to rise. In recent days, people in Guangdong have been feeling the heat – literally - with some even commenting that within two hours outdoors, you're likely to produce an entire day's worth of sweat. But it isn't just the heat that the people of Guangdong will need to get used to; it's also the humidity.

Yesterday (June 17), Dabu County in Meizhou recorded a scorching top of 37.6 degrees Celsius, taking the crown for the hottest part of Guangdong.

Meanwhile, at 11 pm last night, more than half of Guangdong's cities and counties were still sweltering through temperatures of at least 28 degrees Celsius, plus humidity levels above 80%, meaning sauna-like conditions have well and truly returned to the province.

Over the next three days, most of the province can expect to see tops of between 35 and 37 degrees Celsius, while humid and wet weather will also add steamy conditions into the mix. Authorities are encouraging people to continue to wear protective face masks despite the heat to remain healthy and prevent the spread of COVID-19.
