Guangdong is offering a host of benefits—including free housing, startup funding, and high-paying jobs—to attract one million university graduates to work and start businesses in the province. The "One Million Talents in Guangdong" initiative, launching this year, aims to make the province a top choice for young professionals looking for career opportunities.

A major move of the initiative this year is to host two large-scale job fairs, one in Guangzhou this spring and another in Shenzhen this autumn, offering over 10,000 positions, with the Guangzhou event taking place on March 16 at Area D of the Canton Fair Complex. In addition, nationwide recruitment drives in cities like Beijing and Shanghai will also be launched.

Graduates seeking jobs in Guangdong can also expect a series of upcoming field-specific job fairs that involve key fields such as electronic information, textiles, electric vehicles, education, and healthcare.

Over 600,000 positions are already available, with over 200 offering annual salaries of more than 1 million yuan, according to Du Minqi, the Director of the province's Human Resources and Social Security Department.

Guangdong is also making it easier for graduates to start businesses. The province currently has 600 startup incubators, offering funding, training, and low-interest loans. In Zhuhai, government-backed investment funds prioritize young entrepreneurs, with available loans reaching up to 5 million yuan.

Housing benefits are another major draw. Shenzhen is offering 15 days of free accommodation for job seekers and up to three years of rent-free housing for recognized young talents. Zhuhai provides a free apartment for the first year, with rent discounts in the following years. Entrepreneurs can also take advantage of Zhuhai's "1 Yuan Startup Space", where businesses can rent fully equipped offices for just one yuan per year.

Guangzhou, the province's capital city, plans to offer over 450,000 job opportunities this year and will introduce perks in the form of food vouchers, accommodation subsidies, and free access to parks and attractions for job seekers to explore and experience the city.
