The Regulations Regarding Pet Dogs-Raising Management in Dongguan City (hereinafter "Regulations") will take effect from June 1 this year. To facilitate the residents to register their dogs at the registration sites near their residences, on May 28, the Dongguan Municipal Public Security Bureau announced the list of the first-batch registration service sites for dog keeping in Dongguan. It reminded dog owners of the steps for registration.

What to prepare before registration?

For individual dog-keepers, they need to bring the dog, along with the dog-owner's ID card (original one), real estate certificate of the place where he/she lives with the dog, housing lease certificate or local household registration book, and go to the registration service site near to their residences to apply for registration of dog keeping.

For organization dog-keepers, the dedicated personnel need to bring the dog with relevant materials such as the personnel’s ID card (original one) and the organization's business license, photos of enclosed safety protection facilities such as dog cages, kennels, fences, and special places equipped for dog-raising in the organization, and go to the registration service site near to their residences to apply for registration of dog keeping.

Precautions before registration

According to Article 11 of the Regulations, the dog owner shall, within 30 days of raising the dog, go to the registration service site to register for dog keeping. Those who have raised dogs before the promulgation of the Regulations shall go to the service site for registration within 60 days after the promulgation of the Regulations.

Dongguan City has set up the first batch of 118 dog registration service sites. Those who have raised dogs before the promulgation of the Regulations can register their dogs at the nearby service site before July 30. It is recommended that people shall contact the specific site by phone and make an appointment in advance.
