On March 31, Dongguan reported 1 confirmed case in Dongcheng District and 8 asymptomatic cases, of which 7 cases were in Gaobu Town and 1 in Dongcheng District. The confirmed case reported in Dongcheng was found when he went to the hospital for a nucleic acid test, and the asymptomatic case in the district was a close contract of him. The asymptomatic cases in Gaobu Town were all close contacts of previously reported positive cases. All the asymptomatic cases were found during their period of centralized quarantine. They have been transferred to Dongguan No.9 People's Hospital for isolation and treatment. The venues involved in their activities have undergone environmental sampling and disinfection.

Gaobu Town

Asymptomatic case 1: Male, 52, an employee of a company in Tangxia Village, Gaobu Town, currently living in the company's dormitory. From March 23 to March 26, his nucleic acid test results were all negative.

Asymptomatic case 2: Male, 32, an employee of a store in Tangxia Village, Gaobu Town, currently living in the store. He tested negative on March 23 and March 26.

Asymptomatic case 3: Male, 28, an employee of a store in Tangxia Village, Gaobu Town, currently living in the store. He tested negative on March 23 and March 26.

Asymptomatic case 4: Male, 51, a porter, currently living in Baolian Village, Gaobu Town. He tested negative on March 23 and March 26.

Asymptomatic case 5: Male, 57, an employee of a company in Tangxia Village, Gaobu Town, currently living in the company's dormitory. From March 22 to March 26, his nucleic acid test results were all negative.

Asymptomatic case 6: Male, 51, an employee of a company in Tangxia Village, Gaobu Town, currently living in the company's dormitory. From March 23 to March 26, his nucleic acid test results were all negative.

Asymptomatic case 7: Male, 57, an employee of a company in Tangxia Village, Gaobu Town, currently living in the company's dormitory. He tested negative on March 24 and March 26.

The asymptomatic cases were all close contacts of previously reported positive cases and found positive during centralized quarantine.

Dongcheng District

Confirmed case: Male, 24, an employee of a company in Longgang District, Shenzhen, currently living in Zhushan Community, Dongcheng District, Dongguan. His nucleic acid test results were negative on March 22, March 24, and March 27. On March 30, he went to Donghua Hospital for a nucleic acid test, and the result turned positive. After re-collection and re-examination by Dongguan CDC, the result remained positive on March 31. After further examination and expert consultation, he was diagnosed as a confirmed COVID-19 case.

Asymptomatic case: Female, 24, an employee of a company in Zhushan Community, Dongcheng District, currently living in the community. She tested negative on March 25 and March 27. She was a close contact of the confirmed case mentioned above and was identified during the period of centralized quarantine.
