Dr.Johannes Slawig (City Director of Wuppertal) expresses appreciation to Dongguan

On 12th May, Wuppertal City in Germany, hometown of Engels, received 50,000 masks donated by sister city Dongguan.

Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, Dongguan's international sister cities and other cities in friendly exchange relationship with Dongguan have expressed their concern for Dongguan people in different ways. Since the outbreak of the epidemic overseas, Dongguan has also been closely following the epidemic situation in these cities, and actively aiding them whenever possible.

Dongguan and Wuppertal formally established the sister-cities relationship in 2015. Over the past five years, the two have formed a profound friendship via frequent exchanges and extensive cooperation. After learning about the outbreak of COVID-19 in Wuppertal, Dongguan expressed its condolences and concerns as soon as possible and actively sought suitable ways to donate anti- epidemic supplies.

After receiving the masks, the citizens of Wuppertal express their thanks to Dongguan.

Wuppertal expressed gratitude to Dongguan for its assistance. They will distribute the donated masks to local institutions and people according to greatest need.

The donation has greatly deepened friendship between the people of Dongguan and Wuppertal, strengthening pragmatic cooperation between the two sides, a true reflection of their beautiful friendship.
