However, on the evening of December 31, all public places in Dongguan have no any form of "countdown" activities to welcome in the New Year. Dongguan Municipal Public Security Bureau reminds the general public that as the recent epidemic situation is grim, for the safety, citizens should avoid public places where crowds congregate.

Dongguan police will reinforce security patrols in large public places and take measures to control the number of people gathering tonight. Measures like traffic controls, when needed, will be implemented to ensure road safe. Citizens who are going to or passing through crowded areas are suggested to plan routes in advance and try to avoid busy roads at busy times. Relevant safety reminders and traffic control information will be released in real time on its official Weibo account "Ping'an Dongguan".

Following safety attentions should be noticed while going out:

1. Please obey the rules and laws, avoid crowded places, do not push or shove to avoid trampling. Citizens are requested to consciously obey on-site safety management and accept safety checks. It is strictly forbidden to carry explosive, flammable, radioactive, toxic, corrosive and other dangerous materials or to keep guns, ammunition, and controlled equipment.

2. Try to stagger your trips during peak hours. Take care of the elderly and children when you are out. Please follow the guidance of security guards and be careful of others when in crowded areas. Strictly follow traffic rules when driving through narrow roads, bridges, or streets with poor lighting. No speeding, no unnecessary overtaking and follow the instructions of the on-site management personnel. Please pay attention to steps, narrow bridges, water on surface, and try to walk or run in well-lit areas.
