Liu Yinwen, whose ancestral hometown is Chashan, is the Director of Dong-an Fellows Association in Singapore. The association was at risk of failing 25 years ago because of a shortage of funds, but thanks to Liu was able to survive. In order to spread the influence of Dong-an Fellows Association, Liu made a major push to promote Cantonese opera. On Liu's initiatiative, members of the Dong-an Fellows Association from all around the world came together to establish the World Dong-an Fellowship. This has played an important role in promoting traditional Chinese culture and strengthening communication among the fellows from Dongguan and Bao'an.
