Recently, the emergency management department of Dongguan responded to these concerns. Although fireworks are beautiful, they are banned in some places in Dongguan due to air pollution and safety concerns. According to the Regulations on the Safety Management for Fireworks and Firecrackers in Dongguan City, Guancheng District, Dongcheng District, Nancheng District, Wanjiang District, Songshan Lake High-tech Zone and Lisha Island in Shatian Town are areas where setting off fireworks and firecrackers are prohibited.

Also, fireworks and firecrackers are banned in some specific places, including cultural relic protection units, transportation hubs, railway line safety protection zone, medical institutions, kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, nursing homes, drinking water source area, safety protection zone of flammable and explosive materials production, operation, storage units, and safety protection zone for power transmission facilities.
